a tune-up (new sparks, wires, distributor cap and rotor) changed the radiator; cleaned the EGR valve, and; recently changed the thermostat. After all this the engine started revving up and down when idling. If I try to drive the car while it is still idling it stalls a lot.

This video outlines how adjusting the dashpot seems to have fixed the mysterious "idle dropping to 500 RPM's when coming to a stop" problem on my 1990 Toyota Point A to Point B Discussion starter. I have MetroMile insurance which uses a plug-in module to track mileage, and also notifies when you get a check engine code. It reported code P0116 - Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor 1 Circuit Range/Performance. I replaced the sensor and I have no issue starting it now It idled correctly for a day, but First, an explanation of the stock configuration: When you depress the A/C button while the blower is on, assuming the thermoswitch (in the evap box) is closed, the ECU receives a closure to ground at pin 1Q, a light green / black wire, through the heater control unit. This is marked with the yellow dot in the diagram.

I have a problem in my camry.when i start the car first thing in the morning poor cold stat idle.Engine RPM surging between 800-1000RPM.Cleaned the IAC valve and throttle body reset ECU by disconnecting the battery negative cable. After done this car was ok for few days and the same problem return.

A new O ring is installed with a sealing lubricant prior to shipment. LC Engineering has added knurling to the end so no tools needed to adjust, just use your fingers. This is a must have for all 22RE/RTE engines! Follow factory service manual or decal under hood for idle adjustment procedure. Turn off the fan motor and AC Compressor during idle adjustment. Start the vehicle and allow it to idle to warm up the engine. The factory manual specifies performing the idle adjustment with the engine oil temperature between 70 - 90 °C (158 - 194 °F). The factory measuring device uses a probe which inserts into the oil dipstick tube.

#1 · May 13, 2015 (Edited) I am looking for a kick-up solenoid to increase idle RPM when A/C is on. One that can actually push the throttle open, not just hold the throttle open when you step off the accelerator. I have a 350 with a 600 cfm Holley 4-barrel carb. Initial timing is set to 6 degrees BTDC Engine pulls a vacuum of 19 inch Hg at idle

Following procedure was followed to clean the throttle body and IAC valve: Throttle body was cleaned using a throttle body cleaner whereas sea foam was used to clean the IAC valve. New gaskets were used while re-fitting the IAC valve and throttle body to ensure air tight installation.
How to repair Bad idle speed problem in car. RPM go up and down. How to repair Bad idle speed problem in car. RPM go up and down.
2 logs needed. 1) AC OFF. Log DBW idle channels. Must be at op temp and key on, start Scanner logging, crank it. Let idle at op temp for about 2 mins. Then blip throttle 1x up to 2000rpm and release. If you go drive, good, be as smooth in throttle changes as you can. Steady state evaluation and fuel tables check. The Lincoln Electric electronic idle system used on the SA-200 and older SA-250 machines with DC auxiliary power, will respond to both weld and auxiliary power. This system uses battery power to operate a solenoid which pulls the throttle against the governor to a preset low idle position. This idle system gets its power through an oil pressure If you goose the throttle a little to move the linkage, the solenoid will keep it on higher idle, but won't push the throttle off the stop when it actuates. Maybe this GM one works better. FYI - I just brought the A/C back online for my '75 GMC, and so far it doesn't seem to need an idle compensator to run smoothly. Open hole in throttle body -OR- unplug TPS and open throttle body stop. 4. Go back to step 1. 5. Plug in TPS if unplugged. Verify TPS voltage is 0.45v- 0.79v. If not, elongate TPS mounting holes and clock sensor until it does. If yes go to step 6. 6.

If the idle startup airflow starts to decay to 0 too soon, you can increase the delay values (remember that 8 cam revs = ~1 sec). If the airflow ramps down to 0 too fast and causes hesitation when this happens, you can decrease the value in Startup Airflow Decay to make this ramp out process slower. AC Idle Airflow.

There is an A/C idle up valve(88690-89132) and an A/C Diaphram(88606-35020)that it connects to. More likely than not, it is the idle up valve. The use to go bad quite often in the day, or at least with your particular complaint that is the first thing I'd look at to replace. The idle up valve is relatively inexpensive at $23.70 MSRP.

If the idle changes (drops) when you pull a plug wire, you can pretty much say that cylinder is firing. If the idle stays the same when you pull the plug wire at that cylinder, then you know there is an issue with that one. You can concentrate on that cylinder (check the plug wire, spark plug, valve adjust, injector etc…..). 1. Faulty IAC Valve The powertrain control module (PCM) uses the idle air control (IAC) valve to control idle speed. Basically, the IAC allows a certain amount of air to bypass the throttle plate. The extra air enriches the air-fuel mixture during a cold engine start. jkJHc0z.
